A one way drop taxi (also called a one way taxi, oneway taxi, one side drop taxi or one drop taxi) takes you from your pickup to a single destination and ends there. You pay only for that one side of the trip, from ₹15 per km for a Sedan, and you pay the driver at the drop.
What is a one way drop taxi?
A drop taxi is a private cab booked for a single journey in one direction. The driver picks you up at your address, takes you to your destination in another city, and goes back on his own. Because the cab is not kept waiting for you, you are billed for the distance between pickup and drop, not for a return trip you never take.
People search for this service under many names: drop taxi, one way taxi, oneway taxi, one side drop taxi, one drop taxi, one way cab and one way call taxi. They all mean the same thing. If you plan to come back with the same car, that is an outstation round trip, covered below.
How a one way taxi fare is calculated
The fare is the road distance multiplied by the per-km rate of the car you choose, plus the driver’s bata once. There is a minimum billable distance, so very short trips are charged as 130 km.
- Billable km = the larger of 130 km and the road distance.
- One way rates: Sedan ₹15, Prime Sedan ₹16, SUV ₹20, Innova ₹21, Innova Crysta ₹23 per km.
- Driver bata is ₹400 for Sedan, Prime Sedan and SUV, and ₹500 for Innova and Innova Crysta, added once.
- Tolls, parking, state permits and hill charges are paid at actuals where they apply.
Worked example for a 300 km trip: a Sedan costs 300 km × ₹15 + ₹400 bata = ₹4,900. An Innova costs 300 km × ₹21 + ₹500 bata = ₹6,800. A 90 km trip is billed as 130 km, so a Sedan comes to ₹2,350.
One way drop taxi or round trip outstation cab?
Choose a one way drop taxi when you are going somewhere and staying, or when your return is on a different day or by train or bus. Choose a round trip when the same car should wait and bring you home.
| One way drop taxi | Round trip outstation | |
|---|---|---|
| Billing | One way distance only | Both ways, 250 km minimum |
| Driver bata | Once | For every day of the trip |
| The car waits for you | No | Yes |
| Sedan, 300 km example | ₹4,900 | ₹8,800 (same day return) |
| Innova, 300 km example | ₹6,800 | ₹12,500 (same day return) |
